Electromagnetic shielding
Shielding for nurseries, schools and universities
Educational environments such as nurseries, schools and universities are particularly sensitive areas, where attention to prevention and safety plays a fundamental role in protecting future generations.
In these contexts, managing and reducing exposure to electromagnetic fields are key factors in ensuring optimal learning and working conditions, in full compliance with current regulations and safety standards.
G-iron electromagnetic shielding solutions are designed to meet these requirements, providing an effective and reliable system for the protection of educational environments. In particular, they enable:
- reduction of exposure to electromagnetic fields
- protection of equipment and sensitive instrumentation
- improvement of the performance of educational technologies
- ensuring compliance with regulations in the educational and healthcare sectors
Thanks to their effectiveness, G-iron solutions help create safe, controlled environments with high environmental quality, where the well-being of students and staff is central to the design.
Investing in electromagnetic shielding in educational settings means adopting a responsible, prevention-oriented approach, ensuring environments suitable for development, learning and growth in complete safety.
Toti Primary School — Barbaricina District
First experimental in-wall electromagnetic shielding installation ever carried out in an Italian school building
- Average reduction in electromagnetic field exposure
- −31%
- Number of classrooms returned to service
- 4
- Total contract value
- €85k
Four classrooms at Toti Primary School in the Barbaricina district had been taken out of service as a precautionary measure due to the proximity of a high-voltage overhead power line. Although successive ARPAT monitoring campaigns had recorded field levels consistently below the statutory attention threshold, the local authority elected to restrict access pending a technical remediation solution.
G-iron System designed and delivered an experimental shielding intervention — the first of its kind to be implemented within a school building in Italy — utilising a proprietary intramural shielding membrane applied directly to the structural fabric of the building. Pre- and post-installation measurements conducted by ARPAT confirmed a mean field attenuation exceeding the thresholds specified in the public tender, enabling immediate reinstatement of all four classrooms.
"It has only been possible to carry out this intervention now because the technology employed is entirely new."
